Graduate Spotlight: Maddie Buck is "Home for the Holidays"

Graduate Spotlight

Everyone says they are going to be "Home for the Holidays." 2013 Lampeter-Strasburg graduate Madison Buck does it twice a day six days a week in American Music Theater's Christmas Show: Home for the Holidays.

Madison Paige Buck always expressed her passion and love for the arts! Her love of theater and singing was developed at school through her participation in chorus, middle school and high school Madrigals, fall play, spring musicals, Thespian Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society, for which she served as President her senior year of high school. Additionally, she took private voice lessons under the direction of Katie Wieand from 2006-2013. In addition to her extra-curricular activities, she took every music class offered at the high school.

Upon graduating L-S, she went on to major in Vocal Performance with a concentration in Opera at Temple University. After two years of studying classically, she switched her major to Musical Theater, where her true passion always laid (which really came as no surprise to anyone!) She is a recent, 2017 graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor's in Musical Theater.

Throughout college, she continued to cultivate her craft and perform in University productions, including roles such as: Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, Bless the Lord Soloist in Godspell, and Tammy in Hairspray.

In addition to performing in an educational setting, Madison began working professionally in the summer of 2014 in the Fulton Theatre's production of Les Miserables. Since then, she has continued to perform professionally around the country, doing roles such as Cosette in Les Miserables in Arrow Rock, Missouri and Polly Baker in Crazy for Your in Arden, Delaware.

Madison is currently working as a Lead Singer for the American Music Theatre in their 2017 Christmas Show: Home for the Holidays! She performed as a member of their Youth Ensemble in the Christmas Show back in 2010, and she is elated to be back, making her adult debut! The show is the perfect representation of Christmas at home, and she could not be more grateful to be a part of this production and to literally get to be home for the holidays with her family this year!

The American Music Theatre 2017 Christmas Show runs until December 30th with 10-11 shows a week! Please visit amtshows.com for ticket information!

Madison would like to thank the Lampeter-Strasburg School District and their incredible teachers for always supporting her love of the arts and teaching her to never give up on her dreams!
