As the holidays approach, so does our excitement for spending time with loved ones, giving back, and eating all the Christmas cookies we could ever want. And while the third graders of Lampeter-Strasburg are excited for what typically accompanies the holidays, they may argue they are even more thrilled for the high school’s annual Holiday Workshop which took place on December 6 and 7. In its 23rd year of festivities, the Holiday Workshop has continuously brought smiles to every third graders’ face, as they travel through four 25 minute sessions of holiday activities. Arriving at 12:40 pm, the third graders, decked out in Santa and elf hats, are always eager to get started. They are split up into four groups and directed to their first station. The festive stations include crafting a gumball machine, making pizza, constructing and decorating a gingerbread house, and designing coloring books and greeting cards. On Friday, the Lampeter-Strasburg Boys Basketball team defeated Northern Lebanon, 52-36. The Pioneers held the Vikings to only 13 points for the entire first half of the game. Friday's match marked the first league game of the season. Currently the boys are 3-1 overall and 1-0 league. The Pioneers are busy this week with a contest at home on Wednesday against Octorara (2-2, 0-1). On Thursday, the Lampeter-Strasburg High School Thespian Society inducted five new members. New members include (front row left to right): Alyssa Zaepfel, Hannah Miller, Samy Monroy, (back left to right) James Bell, and Donovan Thomann.
