Softball Falls to Penn Manor in L-L League Championship
Team in post game huddle (Cynthia Powell) Sometimes, it’s just not your night. It certainly wasn’t for the Pioneers on Thursday night at Millersville’s Seaber Stadium. The Section 1 champions Penn Manor, who defeated Solanco 10-1 on Tuesday night to reach the title game, were looking to end the Pioneer stranglehold on the league championship trophy. The first three innings of the game told the story for the night. Penn Manor put up nine runs on nine hits, including two home runs. One home run bounced off the glove of the right fielder and over the fence. “Everything went wrong,” said L-S skipper Earl Rutledge. “They hit the ball where we weren’t… they’re the best team in the area this year, along with us. You’re gonna have it happen once in a while.” Offensively, Ally Raub was the only bright spot for the Pioneers.
