Beating the Braves: Tennis team downs Pequea Valley 6-1

The tennis team had no trouble taking down Pequea Valley on Tuesday in a 6 to 1 victory. Doubles wins came from the pair of team captain Tyler Thomas and Evan Winters as well as Evan King and Matt Paich.
Evan Winters served up a victory in both singles and doubles

In singles, Tyler Thomas again held his own along with Evan Winters, Evan King, and Greg Mowrer.

During the match, junior varsity force Tyson Owens, a senior, rallied the team, saying, “You’re only as included as you make yourself.”

And the team made itself very included. It conquered in almost every set, a much needed morale boost after the team’s devastating loss to Country Day, which, naturally, put a damper on spirits.

Grant Davis expressed the appreciation of the team after the victory by stating, “The fans really showed up for this one. Everything we do is for them.”

The team remains hopeful looking forward to the rest of the season hopes to repeat this triumph in the future.
