Pioneers can't tame Lions in the pool despite Anderson's record-breaking performance

The Pioneers team worked and swam hard in an effort to tame Red Lion during its second home swim meet of the season.

Although the Pioneer girls did lose to Red Lion 106-63, they battled hard having three first places: Hailey Welchans (50-yard freestyle), Kristin Allen (100-yard backstroke), and Ellie Kingsley (100-yard backstroke). The girls' strong effort notwithstanding, it was Red Lion that took the win for the books.

The L-S boys also lost to Red Lion 105-64. The boys had first place finishes as well: by the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (Brandon Rouse, Dalton Kreider, Steven Hollern, and Jake Klecko) and Colin Anderson (100-yard butterfly).

Colin Anderson also broke two records: a pool record for 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 54.64 and a school record for 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.29.

The Pioneers' next home meet is tomorrow, Thursday, January 7, at 4:00 PM at the L-S Y.
