Graphic designers needed for Post Prom & Spring Blast t-shirt design contests

Post Prom / Spring Blast Committee needs your shirt designs.
Lampeter-Strasburg Post Prom/Spring Blast Committee is now accepting submissions for t-shirt designs for both Post Prom 2016 and Spring Blast 2016. Winning designs will be selected as the official Post Prom T-Shirt and Spring Blast T-Shirt. Download the entry forms below or pick up a copy in the high school main office.

What is Post Prom?
The Post Prom is an exciting night of fun for all juniors and seniors regardless if they attend the prom or not. This year Post Prom will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 10 pm-2 am. The event includes Laser tag, Mini golf, Photo booth, Inflatables, food, prizes and more! The theme for this year’s event is the Olympics.

Post Prom 2016 Contest Prizes
  • 1st Place. This design will be featured on the official Post Prom 2016 t-shirt. The designer will receive two free t-shirts and two tickets to the Post Prom.
  • 2nd Place. This design will be used to help market the Post Prom. The designer will receive one free t-shirt.
  • 3rd Place. Free t-shirt.
Post Prom 2016 Contest Rules
  1. Design will appear on the front of the shirt, in color and may not to exceed 11” wide, 12” high.
  2. One design per entry. 
  3. The design must include a reference to Post Prom. The phrases, “L-S Post Prom 2016” must also be included. 
  4. Your design must be wholly original. By submitting a design you are guaranteeing that you hold rights to everything in it and that it does not contain any copyright material. 
  5. For the artwork, if it is created digitally an adobe Illustrator format is requested. If done by hand, black and white, (sharpie black, no pencil) and the design should be created at a large enough scale that it can be scanned. Please be prepared to submit the original Illustrator file in the case your artwork is chosen. Design must be easy to reproduce by silkscreen. We reserve the right to make adjustments to the winning design. 
  6. Entries must be received by December 1, 2015, and sent to wendy.barber.70@gmail.com or dropped off at the high school office.
  7. All entry emails should have the subject line “Post Prom T-shirt Design Contest”. 
  8. Include your name, email address and homeroom teacher.
  9. Entries become the property of L-S Post Prom/Spring Blast Committee. We will be announcing the winner in December. By submitting you are agreeing to all contest rules.

Book Review: Read the story of 14-year-old 'Tex' an aimless, trouble-prone youth

Book Review Before school started, I went to Barnes & Noble to get a few books from my favorite author, S.E. (Susan Eloise) Hinton, to read as the year started. I got That was Then This is Now , Rumble Fish , (a third copy of) The Outsiders , and Tex .  I had already read The Outsiders at least nine times, I had finished That was Then This is Now , and I had just finished Rumble Fish , so I decided to pick up Tex and start reading. The author of these books writes them in the only way I can ever read books. A Harmonious Evening to Remember: The Lampeter-Strasburg District Chorus Concert

On March 14th, 2024, Lampeter-Strasburg High School hosted the District Chorus Concert. Students from 4th to 12th grade performed captivating songs, and the auditorium was packed full of friends and family members who came to watch the performance.  Preparation for the concert was a long process, but a much needed one. No one knew how to sing the songs in the beginning, but after several rehearsals and time to fix the small details, they got to the level they performed at on the 14th.  The evening started off with the youngest singers of the night: the 4th and 5th graders. Their performance was followed by the Martin Meylin Madrigal singers and chorus, followed by the High School Madrigals and chorus. To end the evening, all groups joined on stage to perform “Ad Astra” together, a beautiful piece consisting of Latin and English lyrics.
