Garden Spot FFA celebrates 2020-2021 accomplishments

Throughout the summer, the Garden Spot FFA has done an extravagant amount of work to either close the season or prepare the season. In May of 2021, the officer team faced the challenge of COVID - 19 while trying to prepare for the annual awards and recognition banquet. While half of the officer team was in school and the other half was out, this made planning extremely difficult. Due to all school COVID rules, our banquet was held outside in May.

The annual awards and recognition banquet is the most memorable event of the year. FFA members are recognized for their awards and achievements, team and individual successes. Here are a few highlights to share with you.

In a typical year, the State Convention would be held at Penn State over a three day period. We were fortunate enough to travel to Tyrone High School on June 11th for a different way of celebrating awards and achievements from chapters in the state. We had several members who were blessed enough to stand on the stage at Tyrone to wait to see if they got to go to nationals.

Here are the members who got the opportunity of a little spotlight:

Ag Sales:

  • Katie Ranck

  • Gracie Albright

  • Rachael Lee

  • Jaclyn Martin

The team won 2nd in the state and Katie received 3rd place for individual

Creed Speaking

  • Sarah Blount

Sarah Blount received 2nd in the state for reciting The FFA Creed by E.M. Tiffany.

Vet Science CDE

  • Aftin Feathers

We are so proud of everyone who was able to be recognized at Tyrone High School and hope to resume to a normal state convention this coming year.
