In My Own Words: 'Flowey the Flower' wins first place at the fair

In My Own Words

In this installment of In My Own Words, Jordan Knisely talks her about entering an exhibit for judging at the Lampeter Fair.

A few months ago I made a pillow for my friend of a video game character that we both adore named Flowey the Flower from a video game called Undertale.

This handmade stuffed pillow is a little bit shorter than me and really soft. It has a poseable stem made from a heavy duty wire I bought from Lowes.

Why am I talking about this random project you may ask?

That's because I had submitted this project into the West Lampeter Fair. I was anxious to see if my entry could place. Since we had an early dismissal on Wednesday a few of my friends and I went immediately from school to the fair.

We beelined to the Art exhibit. I was bouncing on the balls of my feet. The people in front of me could not move fast enough. I somehow weaved my way through the crowd of people and was greeted by a shiny, blue first place ribbon sitting on the top of my masterpiece.

I was so excited! I could not believe I had won first place.

In My Own Words is a first person written series that highlights Lampeter-Strasburg High School students activities.
