Girls Soccer: Pioneers Defeat Suburban, Head Into Playoffs Strong

On Wednesday afternoon, the girls’ soccer squad took on the Trojans of York Suburban. The Pioneers won the game by a score of 6-0, ending the regular season on a high note.

The girls will begin their league playoff campaign on Saturday in Kinzers against Pequea Valley. The game will be played at 4:00 PM.

First L-S Home Marching Band Performance

  Just last Friday, September 15, the L-S Marching Band had their very first performance at the home stadium. The band had their first hype session and hosted middle schoolers for Band Buddy Night, as well. The L-S Marching Band taking field 2023 Each member of the band was placed with their middle school apprentice before the game to introduce them to life in marching band. There were a total of 130 middle schoolers who showed up that night to participate. When asked about a favorite part of the night, Claire Nafiziger, grade 8, stated, “It is really energetic and fun. Everybody just hangs out and plays music together.” The first performance of the evening was the hype session on the lower L-S turf. The band played warm-ups and danced a bit to a small crowd of people before the real show.  Shortly after, the marching band departed from their buddies to perform their 3-part show of 2023, Dare To Dream . Support Ryan Weitzel’s legacy by participating in annual Ryan’s Race

It's been eleven years since Ryan Weitzel lost his battle with cancer. To commemorate Ryan's memory, the Varsity Club has created this  Remembering Ryan  video. In it, faculty and former students share Ryan's story, his impact on the Lampeter-Strasburg community, and why we continue to honor him.  Ryan "Whitey" Weitzel The Varsity Club hopes that you will find a few minutes to watch this video. Each year the Lampeter-Strasburg community gathers for this 5k to raise money to fund two scholarships that honor graduating seniors who embody the characteristics that Whitey was known for: courage, selflessness, and positivity in the face of adversity. Everyone is invited to participate in this year's 5k and Kids Fun Run on May 12 to support a great cause!
