Volleyball: Pioneers Swept by Mounts in Section 2 Battle

The Pioneer volleyball team played at home against Ephrata on Thursday night. L-S entered the matchup with a record of 2-3. The Pioneers started the set strong with Hannah Williams serving. They had a slow start, falling behind with a score of 4-1, but slowly caught up with Emily Mullin's powerful serves. Ephrata ended up winning the set with a 25-10 score.

Alexis Moran spiking in the match at Solanco (Logan Thompson)

Between Sachi Singh's countless dives and Alexis Moran's blocks, you'd never know they ended up losing with all the effort and dedication that was given during the second set. The final score was 25-13.

Williams put L-S in the lead with her serve for the start of the third set. The girls were determined to win. The set kept everyone on their toes! Throughout the entire set, the game was changing point by point to each team. As soon as one of the teams fell behind, they quickly tied it back up. Mullin's spike brought the score from 14-14 to 15-14. Unfortunately, the Pioneers lost their lead and lost the set by 4 points. It was a rather tough night for the Pioneers, but that doesn't negate the fact that they gave it they're all.
