Cross Country: Pioneers Sweep Meet Over Columbia and Cocalico

On Tuesday, the cross country team headed to Denver for a tri-meet with the Eagles and the Crimson Tide. The boys entered with a record of 5-0, firmly atop the Section 2 standings. The girls were 3-2, hoping to keep the title dream alive.

For the girls, neither Cocalico or Columbia had enough runners to field a full team. Paige Reeser won the race individually with a time of 21:41. Followed by her were 7 straight Pioneers, led by Jaclyn Martin and Aubrey Magagna with times of 22:02 and 22:46 respectively. The Pioneers defeated both teams by a 15-50 score.

The boys team showed off their depth in a unique way. The top five runners in the race were separated by only 1.12 seconds. They were all wearing blue and white. Adrian Elia, Luka Vranich, Colin Whitaker, Ben Devine, and Parker Stoner (in that order) composed the top five.

The team has the next week off. They will then head to Brubaker Park in New Holland for another section battle with the Spartans and the Braves.
