LSHS Senior Lander Holsinger and FTC Team 7244, Out of the Box Robotics set sights on 4th bid to FIRST Robotics World Championships

If the beginning of competition season is any indication, OBX Robotics should start packing their bags for Detroit come April. After just three tournaments OBX has added the following titles to their legacy for 2019-2020; NJ Champion Alliance 1st Captain Pick, PA Finalist Alliance 1st Captain Pick, NJ Champion Alliance Captain and world record alliance score "for a few days" says Lander. "It's early in the season and robots are improving at a fast pace, I blog a lot with other teams and help them with their designs and they help me, it's an open forum where having your designs adopted by others so they can be successful is a good thing".

In a few weeks, teams will be in qualifier rounds hoping for a bid to the FIRST World Championships, a 5-day extravaganza celebrating STEM where FIRST Robotics teams from around the world congregate. "Just by luck for two years in a row we were paired up with a South Korean team that could not speak English, we had to use google translate," says Lander "we were all laughing so hard when we saw each other again, I keep in touch on discord with so many people, it's helping me in many ways outside of FTC".
